Nebraska

I’m back from Grandma’s funeral, which was beautiful. All the kind wishes, shared stories, and outpouring of love showed just what an impact she had not only on her family, but on the community.

To get to South Dakota from New Mexico, you have to drive through Nebraska, which is also beautiful in a spare, serene way. I especially love how fields look in winter, how they seem to never end, even at the horizon where they blend into the pale sky.

My camera and I went mostly unnoticed.

Until this alert cow popped his head up.

I’ll share photos I took at Grandma and Grandpa’s farm next week. Until then, have a great weekend.

Thank you, Sherry! Despite the sad occasion, it was good to be on the road, so I may go for a quickie this week, something close by. We’ll see.

I so understand the itchy feet. I’m still waiting as we are knee deep in mud and surely have more cold/snow on the way in the next 2 months. Trying to figure out just how early I can get the trailer out but am sure I”ll be out 4 wheeling it before that!

Sherry – We’re deep in mud, too. I’m certain I couldn’t even get Sadie down my road and out to the highway right now. Sigh. Hope you can get out and on the road soon!

Sounds like the road helped to soothe your aching heart. I know that is how it feels for me. Looking forward to the farm photos!

Manisha – It did, thanks. Wide open spaces and solitude are good for the soul.
