Resources

Abiquiu New Mexico roadThere’s a lot to know about RV camping and the National Parks – I’m still learning, and probably always will be – but here are some good resources:

Ken Burns’s documentary, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea. Don’t blame me if it gives you a serious case of wanderlust.

I support the National Parks Conservation Association and you might want to, as well. It’s at the forefront of protecting U.S. National Parks from development encroachment and environmental hazards, and their free newsletter is loaded with good information about visiting the Parks.

National Parks Traveler Kurt Repanshek does a terrific job of gathering news and interesting info about the U.S. National Parks. A go-to resource in my quest to see all (more than) 400 of them.

Road Trip America Tons of information here about planning your North American road trip, plus forums and photo shares.

Road Trip USA: Cross-Country Adventures on America’s Two-Lane Highways The bible of road tripping in the USA, the book I wish I would have written. A must. (I get a bit from Amazon if you buy through this link, but I recommend it regardless of where you get it. It’s terrific.)

RV Travel Everything you need to know about going on the road with an RV. The free weekly newsletter is particularly good, and it doesn’t hurt that Chuck Woodbury, who runs the site, is a truly nice guy.

Scamp Trailers The one, the only. They’re well-made, affordable, comfortable, and adorable. Who could ask for anything more?

Women RV A supportive, fun bunch of women gather on this site, and offer loads of information about RVs, campgrounds, and all things pertaining to life on the road.
