Mom and I spent a long weekend in New Orleans for her birthday, and now that I’ve been there three times I had a realization. Aside from live music everywhere, fun, friendly people, and the ability to legally drink technicolored cocktails in the street, one other thing never gets old.
That’s beignets and chicory coffee at Cafe Du Monde. (Okay, that’s two things, but you get my drift.) This time Mom and I sampled beignets at different cafes – we Kahlers are fearless in the face of carb and sugar overload – and I have to confess: Cafe Du Monde’s really are the best.
Just the right blend of chewy and airy, and enough powdered sugar to encourage your fiercest Tony-Montana-in-Scarface impression.
