Gold Beach, Oregon

Oh Internet, it’s been too long, so I’m just going to jump right in.

Due to unforeseen health issues (resolved) I had to take a break, but I’m back. First up: Gold Beach, Oregon, where Sam and I spent a beautiful week in May at the Turtle Rock RV Resort. What a sweet park! Walking distance to the beach where Sam could run unfettered, wonderful staff, and we even made a new friend. (Hello to Jan and her pack!)

Sam Gold Beach Oregon

Notice the lack of ripples farther out – no swimming for Sam. This was the lagoon next to the RV park.

Gold Beach Oregon

The bridge over the lagoon. I tried this in black and white, but liked the subtle colors so I left them in.

Evergreen Gold Beach Oregon

On a hike along the coast near the park. Oregon has so much of the beauty of the Northern California coast, but it’s less expensive and has fewer people.

Beach Grass Gold Beach Oregon

Beach grass. I took way too many photos of it, but this was my favorite.

Sunset Gold Beach Oregon

And the sunsets! Holy cow.

Sunset Gold Beach Oregon

End of the day. Ahhh.

Thanks, Emilie! It really is beautiful. I seem to be collecting “places I need to get back to” a lot lately. πŸ™‚

Great pictures. A dear friend has her 5th wheel parked there permanently as a cottage. I just recently returned from a train/bus tour out west. Have you ever taken shots of Route 66 in New Mexico? I know it isn’t very “natural”, but some of the old roadside attractions looked interesting. Happy trails!

Jim – Nice spot to park! I’d happily go back. I’ve also wanted to do some train travel, what fun. I haven’t done much shooting on Route 66, but it is certainly photogenic. I’m sure I’ll do that one of these days. Thanks for the comment!

My wife, a native Californian, took me to visit the northern California and Oregon coastlines during our RVing days. VERY friendly folks in Oregon and beautiful scenery! Thank you for the memory producing photos, Deonne! Peace

Brad – Your wife is a smart lady! Glad I could bring back good memories.

Thank you, Susan! I’m so glad you had that response. I may print and frame that last one so I can see it all the time at home. πŸ™‚

  7. Wonderful photography…beautifully composed and made me nostalgic for when I took a month driving down both coasts…a long time ago! So happy you are better! Makes me want to get back in a camper and hit the road!

Some of my favorite spots and glad you have the scoop on the resort if I ever get back out that way. Looks like a heavenly place to pause and regroup!

Love the greens of Oregon, Deonne! But have to say, that lagoon shot is my fave. Sorry Sam couldn’t swim there.
