Hiking Slieve Gullion in Northern Ireland

I’m a big hiker, but I assumed walking would be my main physical activity while I was in Ireland. That and hoisting pints of Guinness on a regular basis. Those 16 ounces constitute some sort of workout, don’t they?

But then a lovely local woman and friend of one of my tour-mates introduced us to Slieve Gullion, the highest peak in County Armagh, at about 1,900 feet.

It was a windy scramble up the rocks to get to the top. Those two rounded formations are burial cairns.

The reward after the hike.

I’m just getting back from a two-month stay in San Diego and have a ton to do to get resettled, so the next photos post will be longer. 🙂

    Hi Deonne,
Yes those guinness beers are quite heavy, like a malted milk shake, haha!
What a GORGEOUS PHOTO, I love how it ends up pulling your eye way down all the mossy green into the asure blue below and then all those many shapes of fairy~clouds like whip cream on top; wheres the cherry>>>>
Thank you for sharing it with us!
