Today I’ll post the last few photos from New Orleans, and then we’re moving on. Ready? Me too.

But first, some news. I’ve got photos in two juried shows opening this week, one in Brooklyn, New York and another in Portland, OR. I’m bi-coastal! And thrilled. And also can’t quite believe I’m suddenly a person who shows her work in major cities. Tra la.

Also, you probably can’t help but notice this website is looking different. I’m revamping it to put the focus on the photos, and though it’s mostly done, I still need to set up the galleries and the ecommerce piece, so you can buy prints directly from here. (You could do that before, but the store sent you to an outside source. Now it will all be in-house. Meaning, Kahler Island.)

Lastly, I’m finally going to start sending out that subscriber newsletter this month. It’ll have different content than the blog – the blog will start looking a bit more minimal, all the photos will live in the galleries, and the newsletter (which will publish once or twice a month, tops) will include stories and tips from the road, as well as extra photos and the occasional subscriber discounts and contests. Fun! If you want to get in on that and you’re not already a subscriber, sign up in the box that pops up at the bottom. (If you have trouble, email me here and I’ll put you on the list.)

So, New Orleans. Here a few more shots, and then we’re moving on to Whitney Plantation next week:

Royal Pharmacy, French Quarter, New Orleans

The abbreviation of “pharmacy” struck me as so interesting.

Pink azaleas

I couldn’t resist the color of these azaleas.

One of my favorite hangouts in Midcity, New Orleans – the Parkway. And its approved clean restrooms.
